I unwrapped the gift of 'Hope' this Christmas

Alright all you avid fans... I realize it has been a little longer than foreverrr since I've updated last. Especially since I said that this blog was going to be updated once a week at a minimum. BUT there is a very good reason for that. Australia has been on just as much of a hold as this blog. Just like you were holding your breath for my next post (*ahem*), I was holding my breath to see if my dream of studying abroad in AUS was actually going to come true. Why?  Money. The root of all evil. I swear to it.

Loongggg story short:  Had some turbulence with the private loan for "no apparent reason". After much back-and-forth, a loan was passed. But it was/is borderline too late. Both AustraLearn (the 3rd party that I'm working with) and the airline need payments. All I have is paperwork. Payment was due to AustraLearn the 15th!!! That's right, THIRTEEN DAYS AGO!!! They have every right in the world to completely drop me from their register list. And I wouldn't blame them one bit. As does the airline... who has been more than patient with me. One of my biggest fears is that this trip gets cancelled due to a technicality. Especially when everything about this trip seems so right. There have been many a sleepless nights over this, even though it is completely out of my hands. I did everything in my power to do this right. And in comes the infamous saying, "What's meant to be will always find a way."

On a lighter note, Santa blessed me this Christmas. I am officially ready to fly out of the states thanks to the Schuiling family. And ready to snap some mad awesome pictures with my incredible new camera thanks to my mom and sister. (The Cole family Christmas is yet to come...). This Christmas offered me more than just a neck pillow for the airplane... it offered me hope. Which is an answer to my prayers. Even though I know that all of these things are out of my power, it hasn't stopped my mind from racing faster than the wind. And when the thought of not going to Australia hits me, it's like a punch in the gut that absolutely takes the wind out of me. One day at a time. And hopefully my next post will be coming soon with fabulous news.

Oh, and when I said this trip seems like it is meant to be, I wasn't kidding:  I received an email from my coordinator with ICMS and she said they just changed the dress code. WHICH MEANS, I'll be receiving a $500 gift card to the local mall to pick out brand new clothes for my uniform upon my arrival. I dare you to tell me I didn't choose the most *perfect* school for this girl!!!
